Goal of the game: As in a memory game, it is about finding the largest number of pairs using one’s memory.

Scientific and educational interest: Here, the pairs present a human action that threatens the coral reef and an alternative to prevent its degradation. This game allows us to view the impact of our daily actions on the coral reef and discuss solutions that exist at our level. To go further, this game is also played by comparing two cards of the same pair to observe how the abundance and diversity of the reef’s inhabitants varies when the reef is in good or poor health. This game was created in collaboration with the CM1 students of the Marcel Lauret school who suggested the titles of the cards!

Goal of the game: Based on the game of snakes and ladders, it is about arriving first at the final place by avoiding straws thrown into the ocean that make you retreat while the octopus tentacles are there to help you move forward.

Scientific and educational interest: Stop pollution helps address the problem of ocean pollution. The red boxes describe the consequences of pollution on the marine environment, the green boxes are ideas to fight against this pollution, the beige boxes are facts to better understand the impacts.

Goal of the game: Inspired by the game of goose, it’s about arriving first on the FIN box. Here, the goose that allows you to replay has been replaced by a Polyp. The “prison” or “hotel” boxes have been adapted into a “coral reef” version.

Scientific and educational interest: Polypéï was created by CM1 students from the school of St Leu center, Réunion, to share their knowledge of the coral reef in the playground. The boxes designed and drawn by the students address the biodiversity of coral reefs, threats and solutions to preserve the reef.
