Scientific and educational interest: Rising above the coral reef allows us to better observe it in order to understand its structure (size, presence of channels, etc.) but also its link with the catchment area. These videos can be compared between islands to study the similarities and specificities of each reef. On Réunion, the relief of the island allows you to start the video in the Highlands and continue the descent to the reef, as if you were following the path of a raindrop. This makes it possible to reflect on the problems of soil sealing and the sources of pollution that water will encounter during its journey to the sea.

These two videos, made for the ePOP network (partnership IRD and RFI Planète Radio) collect testimonies of coral reef users, here a diver and an underwater hunter, who observe, under water, the degradation of the reef. Carried out by two young ePOPers, they aim to trigger the debate on the environmental problems we face in our daily lives. These playlets were created by the students of the CM1 class of the Ravine Daniel school in Réunion under the supervision of scientists and with the help of professional puppeteers. They involve sharks, jellyfish or Spanish dancers to present the habits of the inhabitants of the reef but also talk about the problems of plastic pollution and oil spills.
